Program Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this highly competitive ICU residency pathway, applicants must meet several key professional standards:
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or compact state license prior to the program start date.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained during residency training.
- Commitment: A minimum commitment to the designated ICU unit for a specified period post-residency to ensure stability and clinical excellence.
